A Designer Who Can Build

A Developer Who Can See

I’m a designer

I’m a designer. Logos, brands, apparel, interfaces — I care about how a thing looks, and just as much about how it holds up once it’s out in the world. Precision isn’t the opposite of creativity to me. It’s what makes the creative part land.

It started with logos for my friends’ bands. Wanting better results kept pulling me deeper into the tools, and I’ve stayed on that edge ever since — new technology is the part of this work I chase hardest. Lately that’s 3D, and what it opens up for how design can move and live on screen.

The details are where I live. Getting kerning right is as satisfying as the big creative swing. Both halves are the point.

I’m a designer and a developer

and I’ve never been willing to pick a side. What sets my work apart is living in both at once: creative solutions in the code, technical precision in the design. I can shape the idea and build the thing it runs on.

It started with logos for my friends’ bands. Wanting better results kept pulling me deeper into the tools, and eventually into writing the code myself. I’ve stayed on that edge ever since — new technology is the part of this work I chase hardest. Lately that’s 3D, now that we can build dimensional worlds that run in a browser.

And the craft still gets me. Getting kerning right is as satisfying as the big creative swing. Both halves are the point.

I’m a creative developer.

I build for the browser, and I build with an eye for how things look and feel, not just whether they work. Craft and function aren’t separate concerns to me — the code is where the idea gets made real.

I came to development sideways, chasing better results. Wanting more control over the work kept pulling me deeper into the tools until I was writing them myself, and I’ve stayed on that edge ever since. New technology is the part of this I chase hardest. Lately that’s 3D, now that we can build dimensional worlds that run in a browser.

The details are where I live. Getting a transition to feel right is as satisfying as solving the architecture behind it. Both halves are the point.
